Susan B. Anthony Project presents:
"An Introduction to Child Trafficking in CT" Training at the Torrington Library
Join us at the Torrington Library at 12 Daycoeton Place on April 6th from 6:00 - 8:30 pm for "An Introduction to Child Trafficking in Connecticut" training. This curriculum is designed to enhance an individual’s understanding of Child Trafficking. The training assists participants in identifying victims of child trafficking as well as receiving tips on how best to respond and support identified trafficking victims. Participants will learn definitions, federal and state legislation related to human trafficking, prevalence of child sex and labor trafficking in CT, pathways to victimization, warning signs, impact to the victims, and who are the buyers/exploiters of this crime.
This training is open to the public and also satisfies Connecticut law [C.G.S. §17a-106h], which requires that all “persons employed by a local or regional board of education … who have contact with students” receive this mandatory training on prompt identification and reporting of suspected human trafficking. This is currently the only approved human anti-trafficking curriculum in Connecticut that satisfies this requirement. The training is 2 ½ hours long and utilizes videos and PowerPoint.
Please be aware that the content of this training may be triggering.
